This stoneware mug features a decorating technique called Mishima, in which thin lines are cut into the clay and then filled with underglaze to creative the illustration. The top scallops also have sgraffito lines etched into the design.

This entire mug has been decorated with etching and Mishima lines, later filling in with highlight colors of underglaze in overlapping washes and pattern. Handmade and hand-etched with a rabbit character on each side, the piece is covered with a clear glaze on the outside and a celadon green on the inside
